Rosie O’Donnell said on Twitter Tuesday that her missing 17-year-old daughter has been found and is safe.
“Chelsea has been found and is safe in police custody — thank u all for the help and light,” O’Donnell said shortly before 6:30 p.m. ET Tuesday.
O’Donnell said in a blog post earlier in the day that her daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell, was missing.
South Nyack, New York, police said Chelsea was found safe in New Jersey. Police were on the way Tuesday to pick up the 17-year-old and her dog, “Bear.”
Chelsea O’Donnell had been last seen a week ago, the TV personality said in apost to her website. She said the girl “stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention,” and was last seen with her therapy dog.
Chelsea was officially reported missing to South Nyack police by her family on Sunday, after she didn’t come home Aug. 11, police said.
“Rosie wants to thank everyone for their help, especially the South Nyack, NY and Barneget Light, NJ police departments,” O’Donnell’s spokesperson, Berger, Cindi, said in a statement Tuesday evening.
O’Donnell, 53, stepped down earlier this year from her second run as a panelist on “The View.”
