Didier Drogba denies reports he is quitting Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast captain Didier Drogba has dismissed reports that he has retired from international soccer.

Sections of the Ivorian media stated that the Chelsea star had quit when his absence from the Elephants' gap squads for 2012 Nations Cup qualifying.

The 32-year-old missed August's victory over Rwanda and then did not build Francois Zahoui's 20-man squad for next week's trip to Burundi.

"I do not know why there is been any doubt," Drogba told BBC Sport.

"I was simply resting as I had 2 consecutive operations in but 2 months.

"Then I required to figure on my fitness in addition as making an attempt to urge back to my best.

"If the manager calls me for subsequent game, i will be on the plane."
