Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has signed a long-term contract with the club.
The 31-year previous midfielder can now end up a one-club player after signing the contract extension and was delighted to commit his future to the Reds less than twenty four hours after netting the winner within the Carling Cup 1st leg at Manchester city.
"I'm terribly happy," Gerrard told the club’s official web site. "It's a really proud day for myself and my family.
"It comes on the rear of an amazing team performance last night we have a tendency to|once we|after we} got the result we were longing for. Hopefully we are able to finish the task off in two weeks time and take all of our magnificent fans down to Wembley for on a daily basis out.
"The contract extension coming back the day after has been the icing on the cake therefore it's been an ideal twenty four hours.
"This is that the club i love and is that the club I actually have supported since i was a young boy. i am living the dream because the captain of one of the largest clubs within the world.
“I love coming back to figure every day and therefore the experiences I actually have had since i was eight years of age and 1st signed for the club, i would not amendment them for the globe.
“To extend that and to hopefully have some more smart times in a red shirt is what i would like.”
